Love this bakery as the food is so good! The ladies are lovely too! However they could do with a better coffee machine…

Sorry I have to as this is the 4th time I have bought overpriced and tasteless baked goods here. No butter in “buttery” vienese swirls( tastes like plastic), chocolate tastes like palm oil or some refined brown paste, buttercream has never seen butter or cream… if you weren’t so overpriced at least. There is nothing wrong with paying £4 for a lovely artisan bread, not for a stale brick…

Yum! Lemon loaf, Chelsea buns, Biscoff cup cakes, Savoury breads, and a wonderful Apple cake/traybake.

I frantically visited the Warings in Burghfield Common on a Friday afternoon, after being let down by my wedding venue on their breakfast catering for that coming Sunday. The team were really helpful and pulled together some ideas on how to feed my guests, put through an urgent order and then called me at 6am on the Saturday to say the items were in and being individually wrapped for freshness. They took away all of the stress and the pastries were enjoyed on Sunday, much more than I imagine the venue would have been able to do.

The staff are lovely and very helpful, the best thing in the shop is the double knot doughnut, you haven’t lived if you haven’t tried one of these. Sadly the thing that lets it down is the price. Everything has more than doubled in the last 10 years when inflation has only moved 46% in that same period. Ridiculously you can get an entire McDonalds meal for less than the price of a bacon roll. It’s a shame that it’s the only bakery in the area really.

What a great local bakery. Easy free parking right outside, inviting cosy store with great range of sweet treats, breads, buns, sandwiches and even hog roast! Great friendly service and reasonable prices round this out as a must visit place.

Lovely little bakery, service is always fantastic! I love the bread, pastries, buns and bacon rolls. Me and my partner also tried, not so long ago some cheese sandwiches made there and then before our trip to London and these were by far the best cheese sandwiches we had as take away from anywhere in Reading.

I visited the Burghfield branch of Warings Bakery on 1st of October 2020. The lady serving me was not friendly and that would be my first complaint since I was friendly with her. Second complaint is none of the baked goods had prices on them so there was no way of knowing if the server had entered incorrect prices into the till. Third complaint is the prices, I was charged £6.30 for a pack of 4 muffins, and I was charged £6.40 for a medium sized fruit cake. What do they put in them? Edible gold? Nice food but overpriced and customer service could be a bit more more cheerful.

After my last review about my disappointing visit and the reply from the bakery, we decided to give it another go this morning. Again a disappointing visit. The staff were moaning that there were only two of them so they can't do everything (not all fillings were available - we weren't moaning we just asked if they were available), the bacon rolls barely had any sauce on them (I mean a literal smear like it was put on by accident in both sandwiches) and there was less bacon again than there used to be which was overcooked and hard. For the price they were disappointing, shame it's gone down hill as this was our Friday morning treat. On plus side the double knotted donut was nice.
